Who You Are Matters

I was born and raised in New York City and moved out to the suburbs in Greenwich Connecticut when I was 11 years old. I grew up playing sports, so moving to the suburbs was great for me as I really had no freedom to easily play sports with friends as I did in the city. In high school in Greenwich, besides playing and being the captain of the basketball and soccer teams, I started my own moving company and found a love for entrepreneurship and finance. Once I got to USC I continued to study business and began to pursue the sports business world as I now run the Sports Business Association. This past summer I interned at a boutique investment bank called CAA Evolution where I worked in mergers and acquisitions and media rights negotiations. I am hoping to continue to work at the intersection of sports and finance, but as my job did not offer return offers and I realize the sports finance industry is extremely competitive and niche, I am still currently on the hunt for my next opportunity. My parents have bestowed upon me an extremely hard work ethic, drive, and grit. My mom started her own company, so I may have gotten my entrepreneurial roots from there and my dad worked labor jobs his entire high school and college as well. The two of them both went to college, however they both spent the majority of their careers working in entertainment and television as my Dad has been news and TV producer his whole life and my mom worked for Phoenix Pictures. Unfortunately that means both of them aren't much help in my career in finance. They are both also far more reserved, and quiet, where I am extremely loud and outgoing. My parents have always had high expectations of me, but everything I do is for myself and is following the path I desire. One of my good friends Max, who I met out here at school, has great passion and personal responsibility as he too has started his own businesses in high school and college and has been extremely successful. He is also transitioning into the corporate world, but will still do anything he can to find new ways to be successful and think outside the box. I have never thought about feeling a special connection with an animal, but if I had to I would say a spotted dog.The spotted dogs I saw in Africa were super outgoing, athletic, energized, pack animals, and in a way I feel motivated. Connecting with nature, when I was in middle school a tree fell down through the roof of my house during hurricane Sandy and allowed us to renovate the house and change my childhood experience. As for my astrology signs, I am a Rising Sign Libra, Sun Leo, and Moon Aires.
